Spotlight @ Paris

The Eiffel Tower

Well informed, eloquent and oh-so-romantic, the ‘City of Light’ is a philosopher, a poet, a crooner. As it always has been, Paris is a million different things to a million different people….. The Notre Dame and the Eiffel Tower are only one of the hundreds of places to visit in this magnificent city. ……….

Paris is surrounded by hundreds of unique hotels to stay at.

This hotel pretty much says it for what standards this city has…… Other Notable Hotels include the  Hotel de Crillon and the Hotel Plaza Athenee.

Where to Eat

Taillevent: This is the Parisian ne plus ultra of gastronomy. Taillevent opened in 1946 and has climbed steadily in excellence; today it ranks as Paris’s outstanding all-around restaurant, challenged only by Lucas-Carton and Pierre Gagnaire.                         $$$$

1728: This restaurant is more than a place to eat. It was here that the Marquis de Lafayette spent his winters during the last seven years of his life, receiving a stream of visitors every day and holding informal soirees every Tuesday evening at 8. The rooms are filled with 300 works of art, including a painting in the style of Caravaggio in the tea salon and a wooden Thai rooftop birdlike ornament in the entrance. They hung Venetian chandeliers, satin drapes and hand-painted silk wallpaper and filled the space with marble tables and velvet-covered armchairs.  $$$

What to do

Here are the top 3 things to do in Paris…

1. The Eiffel Tower

Is the queue worth it? Yes, it is! Grab a 360-degree panorama over Paris from the tip of the city’s iconic spire. Night-time viewing is highly recommended – the queues are shorter then too.

2. Musee de Orsay

Marvel at the incomparable collection of impressionist and post-impressionist art at the waterfront Musée d’Orsay.

3. Sainte Chapelle

Be stunned (and inspired) by the veritable wall of sublime stained glass in Sainte-Chapelle, one of the most beautiful houses of worship in Christendom.

How to get there

Several Airlines fly to Paris. Air France, the French Airlines flies to destination through out the world. Flights from New York to Paris average around 600-700 Dollars…….
